Re/Max Southern Africa Honored Again

Top Companies Publishing of Cape Town, South Africa, has named RE/MAX of Southern Africa among South Africa's Top 300 National Companies for 2003/2004. The annual report is based on an open vote by business and consumers. In addition, RE/MAX of Southern Africa is included in the new category of "Leading Edge Companies"-the top performers and market leaders in each business sector - the very best of the best.

According to the editors, "These companies were identified after analyzing the results of our annual research for the publication, based on a range of criteria including turnover and market share, growth and recent performance." Further, the article says, "A handful of companies were then selected from certain key sectors - all highly successful organizations and household names in South Africa. Top Companies Publishing then interviewed the head of each of these organizations." Bruce Swain, regional director and CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa was one of the six selected.
In Swain's two-page interview, he complimented his predecessor, Peter Gilmour for his pioneering of RE/MAX in that country. This year, Gilmour relocated to the United States to head the franchise sales division at RE/MAX International.

In addition, Swain emphasized that the quality of real estate agents in the RE/MAX network, the support provided to them, the RE/MAX management system and brand awareness were key to the success of his operation. He also credits the "RE/MAX Quality Assurance Programme," introduced over a year ago and designed to ensure superior quality through office environment and services provided to customers.
"Central to our success is the value customer service adds thanks to training and professionalism. Clearly, we scored well on these and other issues," Swain concluded.

This recognition of RE/MAX of Southern Africa follows the one recently as the top real estate franchise in South Africa in the annual Finance Week/Finansies en Tegniek franchise ratings survey. That survey rated franchises by brand image, transparency, financial value for the franchisee and quality of relationship with the franchisor.
The combined sales volume of offices in RE/MAX Southern Africa was R5.5 billion (Rands) in 2002 and anticipated sales for 2003 is R7.2 billion (Rands).
