Cooper Joins Chester's International, LLC as New President

Chester’s
International, LLC has announced the hiring of Russ Cooper as President.
Mr. Cooper brings more than 25 years of food and franchising experience
and will lead Chester’s aggressive franchise development.
The
Birmingham, Al.-based Chester’s is a leading developer of quick
service restaurant (QSR) concepts with a proven 50-year history in
the food service area. In June 2004, Chester’s announced a shift
in its U.S. business model to a franchise, from its previous licensed
branded program. Mr. Cooper will oversee the company’s strategic
development of its fast growing franchise concept.

future direction of Chester’s is toward building franchise stores
to complement our more than 1,500 licensed stores,” said Ted
Giles, CEO of Chester’s International, LLC. “Russ’
qualifications are stellar, and we know he will take Chester’s
to the next level of success.”
Prior
to joining Chester’s, Cooper served 10 years as Senior Vice President
and General Manager of franchising for General Nutrition Centers.
He has also served as Senior Vice President of Franchising and Development
for Shoney’s, Inc. and as Executive Vice President of Franchising
with Arby’s restaurants.
Cooper
received his graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University
of Wisconsin, and is active with the International Franchise Association,
the National Restaurant Association and the International Council
of Shopping Centers.

In
June of 2004 Chester’s announced its strategic shift to a franchise
concept. Soon after, the company announced its first franchise agreements
with Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores and Pilot Travel
Centers, both leading operators of travel centers across America.
The company continues to sign franchise agreements with operators
of travel centers, convenience stores, supermarkets and entrepreneurs
seeking an excellent value in franchise quick service restaurants.
