Firms Lead Real Trends 500 Again for 2004
Marking
its 18th year, the 2005 REALTrends 500 has been published depicting
the largest residential real estate firms in America based on 2004
production. Steve Murray, editor states, "
since we started
this report in 1987, we rank firms first by closed transaction sides.
As was done for the first time in 2003, we (also) rank firms solely
by sales volume, regardless of whether they ranked among the top 500
in transaction sides. Essentially, there are now truly separate rankings
for both categories."
170
ReMax firms captured 29.3 percent of the slots in the rankings, the
highest number of firms compared to other franchises and all independents.
NRT Incorporated, with 999 offices was ranked first in both closed
transaction sides and sales volume. Fifty percent of the Top 10 firms
ranked by "productivity per office by sides" and sixty percent
of the Top 10 rankings of "productivity per office by sales volume"
were Re/Max operations.
In
the category of "single office companies" which closed 1,000
or more sides, 45.9 percent of the positions were held by ReMax offices
and among the 319 "Up and Comers" (those that closed more
than 500 transaction sides), 27.9 percent were ReMax firms.
The
top three ReMaxoperations in the rankings were ReMax Greater Atlanta,
GA, ReMax Allegiance, Alexandria, VA and ReMax Equity Group, Portland,
OR.
"Each year, when the REALTrends 500 is published, we burst with
pride," commented Margaret Kelly, co-chief executive officer.
"However, when all is said and done, all those numbers, rankings
and statistics really mean that thousands of dedicated ReMax associates
are working very hard all year long to help buyers and sellers realize
their personal dreams. It is wonderful to see how all that individual
effort combines into a marvelous global network."
