Cash Converters predicts DIY surge during Easter weekend

Staff at Cash Converters are preparing for a surge in DIY sales as homeowners are making the most of the four day Easter weekend to tackle the list of jobs to do around the house.

Last year, the company - which is the UK’s largest second hand retailer, saw a dramatic peak in sales as customers came in to buy tools to help them decorate their homes, tidy up their garden and fix their furniture.

Bank holiday weekends are a notorious time for people to get their teeth into DIY, with past figures revealing that 45% of Britons will spend the extra time making improvements to their homes.[1]

Richard Pilgrim, Head of Corporate at Cash Converters, said: “Homeowners are looking to make big savings on improvements around their house by undertaking the work themselves and making the most of the bank holiday weekend. As the largest second hand retailer in the UK, we stock a phenomenal amount of goods from drills and sanders to saws and screwdrivers.

“In preparation for the rise in DIY enthusiasts, Cash Converters has stocked up on tools to meet customer demand, with stores already reporting an increase in enquiries about DIY equipment.”

Cash Converters is the UK’s number one retailer of buying and selling pre-owned goods and a financial services provider, with 225 stores in the UK and over 750 worldwide.
