Snapology Brings Fun Learning to Monmouth County

Kids who take part in Snapology classes think they are just having fun playing with LEGO® bricks, K’Nex and computers. What they may not realize is that they’re learning, too.

Set to open this winter, Snapology of Monmouth County in New Jersey will serve Red Bank, Middletown, Rumson, Fair Haven, Tinton Falls, Colts Neck, Eatontown, Long Branch, Ocean and surrounding areas. This marks the second territory in New Jersey, with company plans for 2-3 more in the next several years.

“I have always aspired to start my own business and Snapology was a perfect fit,” said Snapology of Monmouth County Owner Shannon Russell. “My four-year-old son loves to build and create with his imagination, so after my second son was born I decided to begin looking for a business where children can play and learn at the same time.”

Russell has 16 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry, serving as a producer and writer for many iconic corporations such as MTV, VH1, E! Entertainment, Yahoo, Popsugar, A&E and TLC. After living in Los Angeles and New York City, Russell returned to her New Jersey roots to bring Snapology’s dynamic learning programs to her Monmouth County community, while also pursuing her Master’s in Education.

“I am thrilled to bring Snapology to Monmouth County, as I believe there is a need for more STEAM education programs in our area. It is important for our children to think creatively and learn that they can build anything they want with a little imagination,” said Russell. “I believe my experience overseeing large projects and supervising teams, along with my passion for education will lead to great success and a positive experience for children and their families.”

In addition to being introduced to robotics and science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) concepts, Snapology students learn skills like patience and teamwork and have a place to engage their creativity.

Snapology offers a wide array of interactive, play-based activities for children ages 1-14 – including enrichment classes, birthday parties, workshops, camps, scouting events and field trips – mainly using building materials such as LEGO® bricks and other similar building tools and technology. The programs can be customized based on the number of children, age of children and time allotment, and can be broken down into individual classes, such as Superhero or Minecraft themed events, competition robotics teams, science classes, team building events and motor skills development courses that are perfect for pre-school children.

Additionally, the curriculum is designed to benefit gifted and traditional students, as well as children with special needs, including those with sensory processing and autism spectrum disorders.
