Cash Converters national awards ceremony is a blast from the past
The neon leg warmers were out in force for Cash Converters’ annual conference and awards ceremony this year. The 80s themed evening - with a mixture of Ghost Busters, Rubix Cubes, Sailors, Freddie Mercury and Boy George costumes – rewarded dedicated franchisees and stores for their hard work throughout the year.
Six special awards were presented along with three awards for Outstanding Achievement, which went to the charity fundraising trio, Paul Graham, Richard Addison and Carl Murray who cycled 1,000 miles across the country and raised a staggering £90,000 for children’s charity Dreams Come True.
The store of the night was handed to Wrexham with franchisee Ed Roberts claiming the award for ‘Store of the Year’. The store was recognised for setting the standards as an example store with solid business practices that are second to none.
Award categories also saw the store in Edinburgh pick up an award for providing the best Personal Finance Centre (PFC) whilst the staff at the Staines store were congratulated for their impressive results using the company’s auction style webshop which offers customers a place to shop online for high quality second-hand items.
‘Franchisee of the Year’ went to Donna Owen from the store in Falkirk and ‘Employee of the Year’ was scooped up by Gareth Neill from the store in Lewisham. Both were recognised for being great ambassadors of the brand and for epitomising the qualities of exemplar employees: drive, commitment, passion for the business and willingness to embrace the benefits Cash Converters offers.
David Patrick, Chief Executive of Cash Converters UK, said: “Our annual conference was a huge success and a great night was had by all. It’s a fantastic opportunity to recognise certain individuals who have shown an outstanding level of personal commitment to the business.
“I congratulate everyone on winning their prestigious awards and I would like to also thank all staff across our network of 224 stores in the UK. Cash Converters is consistently performing to an exceptional level.”
Cash Converters offers a place to shop for pre-owned bargains and sell unwanted goods for instant cash, while also providing a range of financial services including Spread the Cost, Buybacks, pawnbroking and cheque cashing.
